Aloha, Baby!

Aloha, Baby!

What a joy it was for me to photograph my beautiful 6 day old granddaughter Adair in this gorgeous, tropical setting!

My daughter Taylor found this amazing location using Yelp! At every turn, we enjoyed  such a diversity of scenery… tropical plants, tall, green grass, a pond, a marsh and, of course, the ocean! Wow, this was such a sight for an Arizona girl! I was in absolute heaven!

The Lord blessed us with a beautifully warm, breezy morning! Adair slept the entire time we were there and seemed to be lulled by the warm breezes.

As in her pictures from her “nest” photo session the previous day, we were able to incorporate a beautiful piece of furniture that Taylor refinished as part of her furniture revival business. This whimsical nightstand was painted using CeCe Caldwell’s Clay and Chalk Paint in Alaskan Tundra Green and Virginia Chestnut. I just love how it blended in with the lush tropical setting.

On a personal note, as I was photographing sweet Adair in this amazing place, I was overwhelmed by the fact that I was truly capturing the glory and splendor of the Lord. Not only was I in awe of His breathtaking display of nature, I was most deeply inspired by the most important part of His creation, human life. I look at this beautiful little baby and can’t help but sense His love and delight at this little life that He formed in His own image.

“You alone are the LORD. You have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them and the heavenly host bows down before You.” Nehemiah 9:6

The following verse is one I hold dear to my heart. When I gaze upon Adair, I can’t help but ponder this Psalm:

“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
 How precious to me are your thoughts,God!
How vast is the sum of them!
 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.” Psalm 139:13-18

I hope you too sense the Splendor and Glory of our Lord as you enjoy sweet Adair in Paradise!

There were so many incredible different scenes I photographed, I decided to split the images up into two separate posts. (Stay tuned for Part 2!)
